Ambling BookPlayer

Audio books are good substitutes for real books, particularly when traveling, cooking and cleaning and so on. Although they are supported by any media player, due to their familiar formats, you can't expect a high degree of efficiency when organizing audio books. Ambling BookPlayer was created specifically for audio books. The application is much more than a simple audio player. It gives you a better view of your library, as well as a series of useful features, like a built-in download manager, with resuming capabilities, automatic bookmarking and more.

Ambling BookPlayer comes in Lite and Pro editions. The Lite version is free, but it has a few minor restrictions. Regardless of your choice, you can have the application up and running in no time, without any kind of difficulties. What's more, Ambling BookPlayer is cross-platform, which means that you can find it for Windows, Mac OS X or Linux and for Android and iOS mobile platforms.

The application provides a compact user interface, with large and colored options. They are neatly organized on separate tabs, so you don't have to spend any time learning how to use Ambling BookPlayer. Audio books are displayed in a list, along with options for viewing their summaries, playing or reloading them and more. Also, you can sort the listed books, to display recently played books or newest entries at the top of the list.

Selecting an audio book will load it in the player right away, on a different tab, where you can find options for playing, pausing, skipping a minute or 15 seconds and for viewing length of each chapter. The best part is that bookmarks are created automatically when you stop the playback and load a different book. This means that you may resume a book at any time, just by loading it again.

You will start with an empty library, once you install the application, but you can import new audio books, in MP3 or other audio formats, from local folders. When importing an audio book, you can edit its basic information, split it in multiple chapters and import a picture to serve as its cover. Alternatively, you can download new audio books from Ambling Books. Besides downloading MP3 files, you can also download files in Ambling BookPlayer's native format. When running such a file, the application will start downloading its corresponding audio book, chapter by chapter, and you can resume a downloading process at any time, if interrupted.
